Project 365 (5-6/365)

Thursday, April 9, 2009 0

Though I had the surgery yesterday, I was still in search of pictures for Project 365.

Day 5 (Yesterday's)

On my way to await surgery, driving down to MIA early in the morning, just after 6 A.M.  What's cool is that you can see the reflections of the light poles on the other side of I-95, and the city lig
hts as the sun rises to greet the city.  Just a cool picture from the iPhone.

This is right before
going into surgery.  Literally two or thr
ee minutes after I took this picture and gave up the phone I passed out on the to have
my shoulder fixed.  If you look close you can see where the nurse had a tough time trying to stick the IV in, she finally threaded the IV the second time.  But of course as it was going in and coming out (no pun intended) I could feel the plastic piece in my vein, which didn't help at all since I absolutely hate needles.

Day 6 (Today's)

You can see plainly where the doctor had fun.  These are three of five insicions in my shoulder - delectable aren't they?  Closed up by staples, I forsee them being an uuber amount of fun to be taken out.  At least the scaring won't be bad, only sets of dots around five lines on my arm.

These have truly become my best friends.  They all help to the end objective for the moment: ease the pain of my shoulder.  The couch helps alliviate some of the pressure from my hanging arm - the sling really isn't all that helpful.  The peas are my ice bag that conforms and doesn't melt, altogether I have four of them to switch between, and they have helped with the swelling.  Lastly, the pills.  My biggest complaint today was not being able to take the full dosage, I'm fine with the recommended dose, it's when my mother goes estrange and only lets me get one!  The pain is really that serious, bad thing is these bad boys make me loopy.  Good thing it's Spring Break.

Well the last two days have been about this awful shoulder of mine, hoping it gets better soon.  Gotta find something for tomorrow........

Texting......Is It Worth It?

Monday, March 30, 2009 0

I am a big fan of texting, as well as any multimedia messaging that doesn't involve verbal communication but gets the point across.  Lately, though, I have noticed some problems with texting :(  Some relate to the barrier of communication thought, as tone of voice from spoken language gives another depth of meaning.  Text communication loses this, unless your recipiant on the other end  understands you well.  The next issue is the fact of not everyone understanding certain characters within text, or per-say the texting language.  Which you would believe only the old folks would be trying to catch up on.  The worst part of texting fro the phone is the damn price! How do you charge $30 for sending texts when it most likely costs only 20 cents to send as many texts as possible within a month?  Okay, I'll give the benefit of the doubt and make it $2 for the month because of borrowing towers, etc.

I'm not sure I'm ready to quit texting though.  Honestly, I absolutely despise talking to people on the phone.  I don't know why, but it's a great pet-peeve of mine.  I enjoy to hold a conversation with someone, just with my mind clear for minutes at a time.  With a phone stuck to my ear I don't feel as if I'm making head-way while I procrastinate.  Texting allows that time interval of sending, waiting for a response in between each text, which is nice so I can write four to five words, or maybe finish a sentence.  Even better with texting, I don't have he obligation to text back.  When I don't want to talk any more I simply stop texting back, on the phone I must hang it up - that makes me feel rude.
So for what it's worth I can't say whether I am really for or against text messaging....not a big help :D  (makes me feel better)

You Just Lost THE GAME

Monday, December 22, 2008 0

The end of the world is near.......a group of geeks have created an iPhone application to count your losses of the game......ugh. The reviews are truly mixed from people who don't have any idea of what they are talking about, and others who love it and still don't quite understand the game, but enjoy it anyway. This application has given the game a scoring system, and tracks your rank between the other users who have discovered the end of the world.
So if you own an iPod touch or an iPhone, I suggest you get this app, lose the game, then get back up and continue to lose, while bringing down your closest relations..........

Hella Fun Free iPhone Applications!!!!!

Wednesday, November 19, 2008 2

This is a list of iPhone and iPod Touch applications that are free and can give hours of enjoyment, whether in class, waiting, or on the go they're great any time (just don't get caught).

1. Tap Tap Revenge - This a fun free app that is advertised by many of the iPhone commercials, but every song download is free for this mobile Guitar Hero adaptation.

2. Trace - A challenging game that makes users get a stick figure to the yellow sun by drawing and erasing lines, then guiding the stick man into the sun. For a free app, this is a long fun game that can help you pass the time.

3. Maze Finger - My friend told me about this app. By striking your finger across the interface you go through a series of mazes. Even better you get achievements!!!!!!!!! Only issue is that it doesn't allow music to play while you play......ugh.

4. Bubble Wrap - The Apple version of this app is a success, the Google phone's version is FAIL. I say this with the utmost respect for the developers, but Apple's version makes popping bubble wrap on a flat screen fun by having a score within an allotted amount of time. Google's version is simply touching a flat screen, losing the fun of bubble wrap entirely.

5. Zippo Lighter - The safe way pyromaniacs can have fun with fire. There are different lighter faces to reflect your personality, and the flame reacts with the accelerometer, including vibration when you fake burn yourself.

6. Puzzle - What could be the fun in moving squares around in a larger square? A difficult mind bender is this game called puzzle. At first it's a pain, but it can help pass the time to become pissed off, then to enjoy your success which is well earned.

7. Four Free - This is basically Apple's free version of Connect Four. You can play the computer, or another person within your direct area.

8. PhotoLab - Provided by the nice people at Ford, this is the only photo editor app that's portable for handy use. It has limited capabilities, but for a quick edit its worth it, and best of all its free.

9. Shazam - Another well advertised app is Shazam. The idea has always been long sought, but for a free app to find out song names and who its by is a great utility. Better yet it shows where you buy the song at that.....sorry cheap people you can't get the song for free as well.
